Paper Cup Regatta

So this race is a collaboration between Rockland Yacht Club, Rockport Boat “Friday Supper” Club, Camden Yacht “and luncheon” Club, and Lincolnville “teach kids how to sail” Club annual event.

Boats gather off of the Rockport Bell, “Race” over to Pulpit Harbor with the finish line consisting of a line between The Osprey Rock and an advantageous point on the land.

The fleet then invades Pulpit harbor, rafting up for lunch and swimming.  Typically then the scoring is done by Al Hodsdon of RYC who, between fixing platters of his signature stuffed mushrooms, is able to jig the results so that RYC boats trend toward the top of the podium and receive most of the Paper Cups.

Then its off to Camden harbor for the group to gather waterside at the CYC clubhouse, for deliberate cocktailing followed by al fresco dining.

Why would you not do this race?
